Night Scenery View Spots

When thinking of great night scenery view spots in Hokkaido, many people think of Hakodate but in reality there is a great spot in Sapporo! The name of this great spot is called Mt. Moiwa on which you can ride a cable car all the way to the top! In 2015 there was a competition to find the best night view spot in all of Japan and Mt. Moiwa came second place!

From the summit of Moiwa visitors can enjoy a fantastic 360 degree panorama of Sapporo city. You can actually see all the way to Ishikari Bay in the Sea of Japan.

Access from the hotel is perfect and the mountain can be reached by the city tramway in 25 minutes. The city tramway leaves from Susukino station and stops outside Moiwa at a station called Ropeway Iriguchi, from this station there is a free shuttle bus service to the ropeway entrance.

Ropeway hours:
Summer – 10:30~22:00
Winter – 11:00~22:00

Return: 1700 JPY per adult 850 JPY per child
One-Way: 900 JPY per adult 450 JPY per child

You can also drive your car up the mountain for 660 JPY. The road is open from the end of April 2016 until 11th November 2016, when it closes due to heavy snow.
